Activewear Manufacturing in Xiamen: What the City Offers a Brand (2026)
Short answer: Xiamen is a port city in Fujian. YOUMEGA's headquarters, cut-and-sew lines and quality control are here, while our seamless knitting runs at a separate facility in Yiwu, Zhejiang. Ask any supplier which processes happen at the address they give you, and confirm the shipping route for your order.

Xiamen at a glance
| Province | Fujian, on China's south-east coast, facing the Taiwan Strait |
| Sportswear companies in the region | Xtep's head office in China is in Xiamen's Siming district; ANTA Sports lists addresses in both Jinjiang and Xiamen |
| Port | Xiamen Port; confirm the actual sailing and terminal with your forwarder |
| Airport | Confirm the airport shown by the airline when booking a visit |
| What it means for a brand | A possible base for a supplier visit and shipment planning; verify each factory's actual processes and route |
What Fujian is known for — and what that description leaves out
Xtep lists its head office in China in Xiamen, while ANTA Sports lists addresses in Jinjiang and Xiamen. Those addresses establish where the named companies can be contacted, not the capabilities of other factories in Fujian. We do not make their products.
What the description leaves out is private-label work: knit activewear — leggings, sports bras, sets, tops — made to order for other people's brands. We are one of the factories doing that in Xiamen.
An address cannot tell you whether a particular factory will take a 100-set first order, match your colour or meet your inspection criteria. Ask that factory for its process map, proposed sample and order-specific quality plan.
What our Xiamen facility actually does
Our own operations offer one worked example; confirm the details for any other supplier separately.

| Bulk production | 20–25 days for stock styles with your logo, 30–35 days fully custom, from order confirmation until the goods leave the factory; shipping is additional (current lead times) |
| Fabrics we run | Polyamide–elastane, recycled rPET and ECONYL options; confirm composition and GSM against the proposed style |
| Quality control | In-house, AQL 2.5 on finished goods (what AQL means) |
| Company | Founded 2017; 1,000+ private-label projects; brands in 50+ countries across five continents; 51–200 employees; a manufacturer, not a trading company |
We state the Yiwu point plainly because a factory "in Xiamen" — or in any city — does not mean every process happens at that address. Ask any supplier which process happens where, and expect a straight answer. If you are building a seamless range, our seamless activewear page covers what that facility makes, and seamless vs cut-and-sew covers which route suits a style.
How an order runs through the Xiamen floor
In a cut-and-sew order, fabric choice and approvals affect the schedule before panels reach the sewing line. For stock fabric, confirm the available colour and specification. For a custom-dyed colour, agree on the Pantone reference and lab-dip approval before bulk dyeing. Specify which fabric-weight, stretch, recovery and shrinkage checks the order requires, who performs them and the tolerances; fabric that changes dimensions after washing can affect fit. Panels are cut and sewn at our Xiamen facility, and finished goods receive in-house inspection to AQL 2.5.
For a buyer, the decision this affects is timing. The sample stage is where a style is still cheap to change; once bulk fabric is dyed, the choices are made.
When Xiamen fits — and when to look further
| Xiamen fits if… | Look further if… |
|---|---|
| You want cut-and-sew activewear made and inspected on one site | Your whole range is seamless and you want every process at one address — ask where the knitting machines are |
| You ship by sea and want the port close to the factory | You need a category the factory does not make; read its product pages, not its homepage claims |
| You want one trip to cover a factory visit, a sample review and fabric selection | You need production inside your own market for speed or country-of-origin reasons |
Choose a supplier for its capability, not its city. The city decides three practical things: freight, visiting, and the supply base around the factory.
Visiting Xiamen
The State Council's June 2025 report described plans for Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport to enter operation by the end of 2026. That dated plan does not establish its status on your travel date. Check the airport on your airline booking and confirm the factory address before arranging ground transport.
A visit is most useful when it is built around a sample review rather than a tour: walk the cutting, sewing and QC areas, then sit down with your sample and your specification. Our practical guide to visiting a factory in China covers the rest.
FAQ
Is Xiamen a good place to manufacture activewear? It can be. Xiamen has activewear manufacturers and a port, but the actual production site and shipping plan matter more than a city-wide ranking. Judge the individual factory: capability, minimums, sampling and quality control matter more than the city on the letterhead.
What clothing-industry presence can a buyer verify in Xiamen? Xtep lists its head office in China in Xiamen, and ANTA Sports lists an Xiamen contact address. Those addresses do not establish a city-wide manufacturing specialism. Our Xiamen facility makes cut-and-sew activewear for private-label brands; verify any other supplier's production processes at its stated address.
Can a Xiamen factory make small orders? Some can. Our stock styles with your logo start from 100 sets, with mixed colours and sizes allowed; our fully custom OEM/ODM minimum is 300–500 pieces per style per colour, depending on the product. Minimums are set by the factory and its fabric rather than by the city, so ask each supplier for the applicable terms.
Does YOUMEGA make seamless activewear in Xiamen? No. Our Xiamen site handles cut-and-sew production and quality control. Seamless is knitted at our second facility in Yiwu, Zhejiang, on Santoni 17–21" machines. Confirm each style's size range and, for a mixed order, the production and shipment plan.
How do I plan sea freight from Xiamen? Ask your forwarder for the actual departure port, terminal, sailing and transit time for your order. City-wide throughput cannot establish the schedule for a particular shipment.
Which airport will I fly into in 2026? Check the airport named on your airline booking. A June 2025 report described a plan for Xiamen Xiang'an International to enter operation by the end of 2026, not its confirmed status on your travel date.
